CUSTOMER CHALLENGE
An electric vehicle manufacturer was having difficulty finding a fuse that could protect their battery systems and cycle to their specifications and limit their cars’ performance.
THE SOLUTION
Mersen partnered with the manufacturer to develop a PyroFuse to eliminate this problem. Mersen currently supplies two of our PCF30/50-TH fuses to be used in PyroFuse.
THE MERSEN DIFFERENCE
- Thanks to a redesigned fuse on the car’s battery, this electric vehicle can now sprint to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds – similar to the times achieved by hypercars like the McLaren P1 or Ferrari
- Since that time we developed our own Pyro Fuse for other EV manufacturers
